Big Tree

This huge tree is in our back yard. We cut the vines so they would stop growing - they certainly did! I figured the difference between the live leaves and the dead vines would make for an interesting HDR… And it did.

House

I haven’t been able to get out and take any photos lately - maybe tonight. The summer weather doesn’t seen conducive to making great outdoor HDR’s. No clouds lately, either its clear or hazy. But anyway, I took my 10-20mm Sigma out and took a great shot of the house. Its a 3 file combo that I did handheld - a test to see if I could do it…!

Frisco stands guard

This is my cat in his usual pose. This was an experiment with my new Sigma f1.4 30mm lens on the D70. It was HDR’d from a single NEF file that was developed in Lightroom. Not bad - but not a great HDR. The lens is great though, it’ll certainly be my standard lens from now on. Great for low light indoor shots, or nighttime scenes. It takes quite a bit of practice to nail a close portrait at f1.4 but its doable!
