Frisco stands guard

admin July 16th, 2007

This is my cat in his usual pose. This was an experiment with my new Sigma f1.4 30mm lens on the D70. It was HDR’d from a single NEF file that was developed in Lightroom. Not bad – but not a great HDR. The lens is great though, it’ll certainly be my standard lens from now on. Great for low light indoor shots, or nighttime scenes. It takes quite a bit of practice to nail a close portrait at f1.4 but its doable!

Mt Soledad, La Jolla

Totally worth a visit – great views of the entire area and this interesting, yet old, cross. Apparently the ACLU tried to have it taken down, so a private veterans group purchased the property and have dedicated it as a memorial site.

Old Town, San Diego

In 5 trips, I’d never seen Old Town SD. Very neat, and the sunset light was great.

Another Sunset, Seneca Lake

It was so nice, I shot it twice. Handheld bracketed 3 times.

General Store

admin July 12th, 2007

This was a cool general store near Watkins Glen. I took this from the back seat of a Prius, 3 bracketed exposures using my P5000 point and shoot!

Seneca Lake Sunset

Seneca Lake Sunset

This was actually created hand-held using 3 exposures at sunset, just as we lost the sun to the fast moving horizon.

House across the street

This is the view from my front porch.  I’d guess this house is almost 100 years old – but thats just a guess…
