Big Tree

admin July 31st, 2007

This huge tree is in our back yard. We cut the vines so they would stop growing – they certainly did! I figured the difference between the live leaves and the dead vines would make for an interesting HDR… And it did.

Meadowlands Part 2

More from the Meadowlands. They have these sitting areas set up every couple of hundred feet to relax during your walk.

EZ Auto & Truck

This place seemed interesting when I pulled up. I figured I’d give it a shot…

Lambert Castle 1

admin July 25th, 2007

Lambert Castle is located on the Paterson/Clifton border. I won’t get into too much detail, but the county has spent a good amount of money rehabbing this location. It’s so nice, I had my wedding photos taken there as well. Find out more about the castle and restoration

Clifton Church

I forget offhand the name of this church, its in the Athenia section of Clifton, but at this time of day it looked great.

School One

admin July 21st, 2007

Passaic School One is a great building, on Van Houten avenue. Now, half the lot is covered with trailers due to overcrowding. It’s still an awesome building. According to the Passaic BOE, it was built in 1927. More about School One here.

Meadowlands

admin July 21st, 2007

I got out to take a few more pics tonight. This is the Meadowlands Commission in Lyndhurst. You can walk all the way to the Turnpike through this park. Totally worth the trip, the water is clear and I saw a variety of birds and animals roaming around….!

Factory

I went out tonight shooting some interesting subjects during magic hour. I learned a few things. First, handheld isn’t going to work most of the time with bracketed sequences. But I already knew that, kinda. Second, the coolest stuff to shoot is in the most dangerous neighborhoods. Third, it needs to be darker out than you think – or – you need nicer cloud formations / sun cover. So, anyway, I have come up with a few new HDR’s, but nothing quite spectacular, yet. But I’m getting there !

Demo

I pass this on the way to church – it’s some sort of demolition project. Kinda a shady neighborhood but it’s getting better!

House

admin July 19th, 2007

I haven’t been able to get out and take any photos lately – maybe tonight. The summer weather doesn’t seen conducive to making great outdoor HDR’s. No clouds lately, either its clear or hazy. But anyway, I took my 10-20mm Sigma out and took a great shot of the house. Its a 3 file combo that I did handheld – a test to see if I could do it…!
